♥ Barb & Dave ♥

Saturday, July 24th, 2010 was the day.  It was the day Dave had been waiting for since the 7th grade.  Really.  Childhood friends and schoolmates, Barb & Dave were married at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Webster, NY because on the first day of 7th grade in French class, Dave said to himself, “I’m going to marry her someday.”  In 8th grade during Ball Room Dancing classes, Dave and Barb were often partners. In High School, Dave played basketball, while Barb was a basketball cheerleader, but they never dated. It wasn’t until years later when Barb was on a class reunion committee that she asked a mutual friend of theirs to find her a “Good Guy” and he suggested Dave.  She knew immediately that it was a good suggestion.  She got in touch with him by email and in her words “The rest is history!”

The reception at Captain Jack’s Banquets on the Bay, provided a great setting for the party guests who were not disconcerted by the rainy and very warm day.  Here are a few highlights from their wedding day that was filled with family and friends.

Special thanks to my friends, Sue & Guy Borrelli for referring Barb & Dave to me.

Alise & James – Elope to Rochester, NY

Who would ever think of Rochester, NY as a destination to elope!  Well that’s what an Orlando, Florida couple Alise Piloian and James Mills did!  They wanted to get away from tourist traps, beaches and apparently the sun (just kidding on the last one)!  On Wednesday, July 21, 2010 they got their marriage license for the planned wedding in October.  They just decided right then and there to get married, take off for Rochester and forego the big celebration.

I know I asked them more than once what made them choose Rochester and each time they said because of the history, the lack of tourists and the hotel they found.  The Inn on Broadway is a beautiful boutique hotel in downtown Rochester with beautiful rooms and history.  It was a great choice.

They are a wonderful couple and told me they had a great time visiting different establishments, the Strong Museum and I know the Eastman House was on their list of things to do. I took them to Warner Castle and the Sunken Gardens in Highland Park, one of the most popular spots for wedding photography in our area and they loved it.  I’m so proud of our city and I had a hard time choosing which images to share first!

Reena’s First Birthday

Reena is turning one year old on May 10th!  This is so significant to me because just 3 short years ago I had the honor of photographing her parents wedding.  Naturally, Joanna’s maternity session was next, followed by Reena’s 6 month portraits, and now it’s hard to believe she’s already 1 year.

Joanna and Ryan are wonderful parents and their little bundle is such a sweetie pie.  I love photographing them.  Here are a few to share from the session.
